Once for All

Hebrews 10:1-18
Christ's Sacrifice Once for All
"For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near. Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have any consciousness of sin? But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sin every year. For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said, 'Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired, but a body have you prepared for me; in burnt offerings and sin offerings you have taken no pleasure. Then I said, "Behold, I have come to do your will, O God, as it is written of me in the scroll of the book."' When he said above, 'You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings' (these are offered according to the law), then he added, 'Behold, I have come to do your will.' He abolishes the first in order to establish the second. And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all. And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices which can never take away sins. But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying, 'This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds,' then he adds, 'I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.' Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin."

God's law (A Moral Code/Moral Law/Right and Wrong) is written on our hearts. C.S. Lewis explains it wonderfully in Mere Christianity! We as humans cannot help but break that Law, we know that it is there, some call it a conscious. But we all have a sense of it and we all break it from time to time.
Paul says in Romans "All have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God."

It used to be that each year, people would bring animals to the priests to have them sacrificed to forgive them and sanctify them of their sins....not holding to the Laws of God. But now Jesus Christ has come, he died and became that sacrifice! But, the difference was, it was a one time sacrifice. In one death and resurrection, Jesus paid for the sins of every person who would ever walk the face of this planet we call earth! He paid for every sin that would ever be committed! Past sins, Sins of the present, and Future sins, of every one!

John 3:16-18 "God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God."

"We Delight" Caedmon's Call

We delight in the law of your Word
We delight in the Son who was perfect from birth
We delight in the day He's returning to earth
Hallelujah

We will bow our hearts because we are free
As we lift our hands to give you glory
Father of life and love and infinite worth
We're delivered by blood that flows from the tree
Draws near to You vessels of Your mercy
Before the invention of man, the glorious Trinity

We delight in the law of your Word
We delight in the Son who was perfect from birth
We delight in the day He's returning to earth
Hallelujah

We will lift our eyes to the cloud and the flame Lord,
You guide our steps and restore us again
The nations of man will rejoice in the God of the wilderness

"Before there was time" Caedmon's Call

Before there was time
There were visions in Your mind
There was death in the fall of mankind
But there was life in salvation's design

Before there were days
There were nights I could not see Your face
But the night could not keep me from grace
When You came and took my place

So I cry holy only begotten Son of God
Ancient of days
I cry holy only begotten Son of God
And sing the praises
Of the One who saved me
And the promises He made

Before there was time
You counted the hairs on my head
You knew all the words I've said
And You purchased me back from the dead

Before I was made
You searched me and knew my ways
You numbered all my days
And You set forth the steps I would take

You saved me; You raised me
You saved me; You pulled me from the grave

So I cry holy only begotten Son of God
Ancient of days
I cry Holy only begotten Son of God
And sing the praises
Of the one who saved me
And the promises He made
Before there was time

Thank you for your precious sacrifice, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In Christ,

David
