The Pale Blue Dot

Voyager Space Probe was sent out from Earth in 1977 traveling at 40,000 mph. On Valentines Day in 1990 Scientists from NASA asked Voyager to turn around and photograph one last time all the objects that it had photographed on its way out there. Now being that it was 3.7 Billion Miles away from Earth...that area that it needed to photograph was much to large for just one photo! It needed to take 60 photos to capture all that it had passed! (Each photo was 640,000 pixels and it took each pixel 5 1/2 hours to get back to earth!) This photograph once received many months after it was taken floored many of the NASA Scientists! There in the middle of the grayish brown line was earth! Earth at 3.7 Billion Miles!!!! My how tiny !!!

This lower pic is a blown up version so that you can see it better!

One of the NASA Scientists was Carl Sagan and he had this to say about this photograph:

"Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors, so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds. Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light.
Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves."

A man named Friedrich Schiller said: "The Universe is One of God's thoughts."

With these to statements in mind I must reply:
Jesus Christ came to the "Pale Blue Dot"!
Philippians 2:6-11 Says,
"Who [Jesus], though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

And Isaiah 40:1, 11, & 27-31 says,
"Comfort, comfort my people, says your God...He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young... Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, 'My way is hidden from the LORD, and my right is disregarded by my God'? Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."

You see, the Universe Might be One thought for God, but so are You!!!
He, Jesus, came here to this "Pale Blue Dot" for you! He is waiting with open arms, if you would just run to Him and accept His Free Gift of Eternal Life.
Jesus Christ is the Almighty, the Creator, He and He alone is the only one to be Worshiped! He is LORD and Savior of us all!

Thank You Jesus!

In Christ,

David

The Next posts will also be based off of some wonderful pictures of Gods creation.
Then on Monday Nov. 1st I will be doing an indepth study of the Book of Romans! You are all more than welcome to join in. The only requirement is that NO commentaries are to be used...only The Bible, a Concordance, and a Greek Dictionary.

God Bless!

People try and use information to prove that we are insignificant and that there is no God. I think what it really says is how awesome God is and that in all of His creation only we were made in His imag and were important enough to redeem from sin. This simply adds to the wonder of the God we serve.
