Hebrews 1:1-4
The Supremacy of God's Son
"Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs."
This is so awesome! Just think about it for a second.... God speaks, He speaks to us!
Long ago He spoke through the prophets, but now, He speaks in a much more personal way, He speaks through His Son!
There is a love in a Father son relationship like nothing else! Dads and Sons you know what I'm talking about! Dads build into their kids lives so that they can grow up and be strong and become men. Sons look to their fathers for guidance and affirmation that they are becoming or have become men!
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
God gave His only Son! His Son was not taken from Him, but God freely gave Him up! What love is there in that action! The love of a Father for His Son, and then to give Him up because He loves us and wanted us to be in relationship with Him!!!
Jesus came to earth and spoke God's Truth to us! Then He gave Himself as a Sacrifice for us, if we would just believe in Him!
God is still speaking through Christ and His words, the Word of God. If we believe in Christ, we are given His Spirit to teach and guide us!
God speaks! Are you listening?
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
Come, behold the works of the LORD, how he has brought desolations on the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the chariots with fire. "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!" The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah Psalm 46
Be still, and know that He is God! Be still and listen!
