3 Step plan for Winning the War with Evil!
Up front I would like to say that I don't like the __ step plan idea for anything. But trust me on this one, it will be good!
How can we win a war that seems so far lost?
Let's get back to the basics! 3 things!
1. Recognize the pull and power and price of evil!
We have to understand that there is a battle going on. It is being fought on the front lines of our hearts and we must not ignore it.
Evil is real and it is a daily struggle against it.
Read through the "Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis, it is letters written from Screwtape (Satan) to his apprentice Wormwood (possible demon).
Also, recognize Satan's Schemes in your life. They are there, you possibly already know what they are, how he can best and most easily make you turn your back to God. See the lies for what they truly are Lies!
2. Remember your inability and Christ's ability!
We are most vulnerable to sin when we forget our weaknesses!
We work on a weakness and build it up, but then once that is done we let it sit there and no longer work on it. This is a very very bad thing. If we build up a wall, we must do repairs when the wall gets damaged by the enemy or just becomes weaker over time.
Jesus is the Savior! Not only from the penalty of sin, but also from its power!
Call upon His name when you are in trouble! He doesn't barge into your life, He will wait until we call upon His name! And this may be the next most important thing to calling on Jesus. Sin doesn't get fixed until Jesus comes. We cannot fix a sin problem with out Jesus!
3. Rely on His Strength through prayer!
Ask for His help!
Pray through Scripture for God to build us up.
Pray about what you struggle with.
Romans 5:3-6
"More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly."
In Christ,
David

That's more of a three-point plan than a three-step plan.
Ken vs. The City
Very true, very true. Thank you for pointing that out!
