God's Righteous Judgment
"Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things. We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who do such things. Do you suppose, O man--you who judge those who do such things and yet do them yourself--that you will escape the judgment of God? Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God's righteous judgment will be revealed."
NASB
The Impartiality of God
"Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. And we know that the judgment of God rightly falls upon those who practice such things. But do you suppose this, O man, when you pass judgment on those who practice such things and do the same yourself, that you will escape the judgment of God? Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,"

3 Comments:
One thing that might be interesting to point out is who is this man who judges? People love to go to this and Matthew 7 and say Judge not lest ye be judged. Which when you hear that, it's often the only Bible verse they know. (If they even know it's from the Bible.)
But who is this man that Paul is talking about who judges? It's an unbeliever. Look at verse 5, "you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God's righteous judgement will be revealed."
The wrath of God is clearly for the ungodly, not those who have been justified by faith.
All this to say, that the unbeliever is being told not to judge, not a believer. Now I'm not saying that there isn't other scripture that tells believer not to judge, but this may be an important note for this particular scripture.
The long version:
Romans 2:1-5
1. Therefore you are able to give account, O man, all of you who judge. For in judging one another you give judgment against yourself, because you, the one who judges, do the very same thing as the one you judge.
2. We have seen/perceived that the judgment of God truthfully exists on those who do such things.
3. Do you consider, O man --you who judge those who do such things and yet to them yourself-- that you will get away from the judgment of God?
4. Or do you think little of the abundance of His goodness/excellence/uprightness and Tolerance and patience/long-suffering, being ignorant that God's goodness/excellence/uprightness brings you to repentance/a change of Mind?
5. But because of your hard/rough and unrepentant heart you are laying up/storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God's correct/right judgment will be uncovered/revealed.
My comments:
1. Because of everything that Paul set up in the first chapter, we are all able to give account of ourselves to God. Here Paul moves to the person who judges another (specifically unbelievers and Jacob has pointed out) but who does the very same things.
2. Paul again states that we know and have seen that God's judgment does exist on those who do such things...Paul is pointing back to the O.T.
3. Now Paul askes a question to the intended audiance -- Do you think that you can get away from God's Right and Perfect Judgment?
4. Here he shifts the question -- or do you just push to the side God's Goodness and His Tolerance of your sin and His Patience with you? Are you that ignorant (unknowing) that all of God's Goodness and His Tolerance of you sin and His Patience with you is to bring you to an understanding that He is right and you need to conform your ways to His?
5. But, you have a hard heart. You will not repent and turn towards God and because of this, you are storing up God's wrath which He will pour out on you in full on the final day of Judgment.
