The Long Version:
Romans 6:12-14
12. Let not sin/failure therefore reign in/rule over your mortal bodies/bodies subject to death, to make you obey/listen to/attend to their passions/desires/lusts.
13. Do not present/offer you members/any part of you body to sin/failure as instruments/tools/weapons of unrighteousness/injustice/what is not right, but present/offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and you members/any part of you body to God as instruments/tools/weapons for righteousness/justice/what is correct/right.
14. For sin/failure will have no dominion/rule over you, for you are not under law but under grace/unmerritted favor/unearned kindness.
My Comments:
12. Because we are united with Christ...previous post...we should not let sin control us (for we are no longer slaves to sin, but slaves to righteousness through Jesus Christ.
If we let sin contol us, we will obey its passions and desires.
13. We must learn to control all of the parts of our bodies (through the power of Christ), so that they do not become weapons against Him, but rather weapons for Him against sin and unrighteousness.
14. Because we are united with Christ Jesus, sin has no rule over us (and will eventually be completely destroyed).
We also live under God's Grace in the New Covenant in the Blood of Jesus Christ, we are no longer under the Law of the Old Covenant...however it still does serve the purpose of protecting us from harm.

How do I experience "True Freedom"? What is my part in freedom from sin?
1. Recon -- It is a word of Belief.
Consider yourself to be, believe yourself to be free through Jesus Christ!
Believe that you are united to Christ Jesus!
2. Resist -- Resist Sin and Temptation.
James 4:7 "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
1 Peter 5:8-10 " Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you."
Build walls to keep you from sin.

3. Reliance and Renew --
Reliance on Christ: He is our only source of Power and Strength
Philipians 4:13 " I can do all things through him who strengthens me."
Renew: Looking at Christ through reading His Word, Praying, and Reflecting -- letting Him change you.
These are the only things that will lessen the Intensity of the Pull of Sin.
As we learned earlier in the Book of Romans...we are creatures who's natural bend/desire is towards sin -- it has a huge pull on us and our society only makes that pull stronger!
Christ is the only way to freedom!
Recon -- Believe you are united to Him.
Resist -- Sin and the Devil
Reliance -- On Christ alone
Renew -- In Christ alone!
