"So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin."

For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man, but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members. So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin."

The Long Version:
Romans 7:21-25
21. So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right/good, evil lies close at hand.
22. For I delight/rejoice together in the law of God, in my inner being/man,
23. but I see in my members/all parts of the body another law waging war against the law of my mind/understanding/reasoning (God's law) and making me captive/prisoner/conquered to the law of sin/failure that dwells in my members/all parts of the body.
24. Wretched/distressed/miserable man that I am! Who will deliver/draw to oneself me from this body of death?
25. Thanks/unmerritted favor/unearned kindess be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve/am a slave to the law of God with my mind/understanding/reasoning, but with my flesh I serve/am a slave to the law of sin/failure.
My Comments:
21. Paul says that when ever he wants to do good, evil is quick to follow...it happens all the time...it is a law!
22. Paul delights or takes pleasure in the law of God, but
23. He in his flesh doesn't have the strength to obey it. His flesh is actually waging a war against the law of God!
The battle between good vs. evil!
24. Paul realizes that he is a horrible person...and can do nothing right! He cries out...Who will save me from my flesh?
25. His answer...God through Jesus Christ!!!!
Yet while we are still on this earth we will face the battle between obeying God or obeying our fleshly desires everyday.
But there is good news coming...
in the next chapter!
